The Iowa Heartlanders plan to honor the 2025 state champion City High baseball team Friday night.
A post on the official City High baseball X account says the team will be honored during the first intermission of Friday night’s game against Bloomington at Xtream Arena.
The Heartlanders are making $15 “sit anywhere” tickets available to anyone associated with City High. While the tickets must be purchased by somebody with ties to the school, they can be used by non-Little Hawk affiliated guests. A link to purchase those tickets can be found here.
Friday night’s game is in question after the union representing ECHL players voted to strike if a new collective bargaining agreement isn’t reached by the end of the week. Heartlanders team officials told KCJJ they are still planning on hosting Bloomington Friday night at 7, then hitting the road for games against the Bison Saturday night at 7 and Sunday afternoon at 4. Those two road games, if played, can be heard on The Home of the Heartlanders, The Mighty 1630 KCJJ.
