A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Sunday after allegedly attempting to entice a minor under the age of 16.

The Gazette reports 52-year-old Charles Adams Jr. began communicating with a social media user who he believed to be a 15 year old girl. In reality, the account  was being run by investigators from the Cedar Rapids Police.

Adams allegedly exchanged multiple sexual messages with the girl even after being made aware that the account holder was purportedly 15.

Court documents say he arranged a meeting with the girl in southwest Cedar Rapids, and was met by police who arrested him.

Adams was charged with enticement, a class D felony punishable by a prison term of up to 5 years if convicted.
