A Coralville man is accused of assaulting his roommate after the two were evicted from the Iowa Lodge.
Closed circuit television from the Coralville Strip apartment complex allegedly shows 39-year-old Ronald Givins shoving his roommate against a wall and striking her in the face. Coralville Police say he continued the assault, which happened just after 12:45 Friday afternoon…just hours after the two were evicted from their residence and given a trespass warning.
Investigators say the woman suffered minor facial injuries.
Givins has previous domestic abuse convictions in Johnson County and New Orleans, Louisiana.
Givins was booked into the Johnson County Jail at 2:45 Friday afternoon and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault – 3rd or Subsequent Offense and Trespassing. If convicted, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
