An Ohio woman allegedly found in Coralville with methamphetamine last spring has been arrested.

According to the police report, 39-year-old Mistyn Leon Lopez of Columbus Ohio was encountered by officers just after 6am June 15th at the former Kum & Go.  In an open container probable cause search of her vehicle, a small tied piece of plastic containing a powdery substance consistent with narcotics was discovered.

The substance was sent to the DCI lab for testing and returned positive for methamphetamine.

A warrant was issued October 16th; Lopez remained at large until Tuesday, when she was served. She was charged with meth possession, a serious misdemeanor.  Lopez was also wanted after failing to appear for an OWI sentencing on September 18th for an incident that occurred March 10th, 2023.

Lopez was released on her own recognizance pending arraignment.
