Native Iowan Kari Lake…who in recent years has launched a pair of unsuccessful political campaigns in Arizona…is buying a condominium in Davenport.

That’s according to WQAD television in the Quad Cities, which confirmed the purchase through Scott County property records.

Lake, a graduate of North Scott High School and the University of Iowa, was Arizona’s Republican gubernatorial candidate in 2022 and was the party’s nominee for the U.S. Senate in 2024. She lost both elections.

Lake told WQAD, “”I love Iowa. It’s where I was raised, where I went to college, and where so much of my story began. Expanding our roots there means being closer to family and closer to the values that shaped me.”

The new condo puts Lake in Iowa’s first congressional district, which includes Johnson County and is currently represented by fellow Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks. Also, current Senator Chuck Grassley’s current term ends in 2028.

Lake has not indicated what plans she may have for her political future, although she did say in her statement to WQAD that she plans to help President Donald Trump make America great again.
