The Ely Fire Department has launched a new state-of-the-art weather station…and the funding came courtesy of a grant from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
The fire department cites funding from a DNR wildland fire assistance grant for the new installation. The new weather station provides real-time weather conditions and data, including wind, temperature, rainfall, and more. Ely fire officials say that information helps support public safety and emergency response while keeping the community informed.
