The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Tiffin.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched to 445 Iris Court at 11:44 Saturday morning for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, investigators located one person with a gunshot wound outside of the building. The victim was transported to University of Iowa Health Care via Johnson County Ambulance Service, and was later pronounced deceased.
Streets around the scene of the incident were closed to traffic during the investigation.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. There is no current threat to the public. This is an ongoing investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
