A Cedar Rapids man was arrested early Tuesday after allegedly being found with Ecstasy.
An Iowa City police officer observed a vehicle traveling west on Muscatine Avenue at approximately 1:50 am and the driver allegedly failed to come to a complete stop at an intersection. 36-year-old Arseno Silas of Mallory Street SW was pulled over near the intersection of Friendship Street and First Avenue.
A check of his driving record showed his status as revoked and suspended through the state of Iowa. A search incident to arrest reportedly turned up a small purple pill in Silas’ pocket that he allegedly identified as Ecstasy.
Silas was charged with a controlled substance violation and driving while revoked. He could be sentenced to up to two years in jail if convicted on both counts.
