An Iowa City woman who allegedly threatened her former domestic partner with a box cutter has been arrested.

Court documents indicate 18-year-old Zakiyah Williams of the Town and Campus Apartments and the victim had been in an intimate relationship for approximately two years and had previously lived together but were not together currently.

The two were on a bus from Davenport to Iowa City at around 2:15am December 30th when Williams accused the man of being unfaithful during their relationship.  She allegedly held a box cutter to the man’s cheek while he was sleeping.  He woke up and pushed Williams away. She reportedly scratched the man in the throat with the box cutter leaving superficial scratches.

Williams then allegedly stabbed the victim in the left wrist, leaving a small cut.

A warrant was issued January 5th, and Williams was taken to the Johnson County Jail Wednesday afternoon. She’s been charged with two counts of Domestic Abuse Assault with the Display of a Weapon and could face up to four years in prison if convicted.
