A new state law that has forced Johnson County to elect county supervisors by district has resulted in a random drawing to determine terms.

The draw was held Wednesday and resulted in two-year terms for Districts 2,3, and 4, and four-year terms for Districts 1 and 5.

Supervisors are elected to four-year terms, but all five supervisors will be up for election this year in the newly set districts.. The terms are staggered to maintain continuity in the Supervisors department.

Only Lisa Green-Douglass lives in a district without another supervisor. The new districts show V. FIxmer-Oraiz and Rod Sullivan in District 4, with Jon Green and Mandi Remington in District 2.
