A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a six-year-old burglary near the Coralville Dam that involved almost $14,000 in stolen property.

26-year-old Daelin Hoffner-Williams of Joliet, Illinois was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 2:00 Saturday morning. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says Hoffner-Williams and several others broke into a residence on Woodland Heights NE between 2 and 7:00 on the morning of St. Patrick’s Day 2020. The group allegedly stole $13,886 in gaming consoles, gaming accessories, computers, computer equipment, jewelry, money, a television, and a soundbar. Some items were kept by members of the group while others were pawned or traded.

Hoffner-Williams is now charged with 1st Degree Theft and 3rd Degree Burglary. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 15 years in prison.

One of the others reportedly involved in the break-in, 24-year-old Luke Beckner of Iowa City, was charged with the same offenses in 2021, although they no longer appear in Iowa court records.
