New court filings indicate former Des Moines School Superintendent Ian Roberts has reached a plea deal with federal prosecutors.

Roberts was arrested September 26th while allegedly running from ICE agents in Des Moines. KCRG TV reports Department of Homeland Security officers found a gun, knife, and $3000 in cash.  Court documents indicate Roberts may have possessed four different firearms.

Roberts faced charges including illegal weapons possessions, making false statements to gain employment, and possession of firearms while in the country illegally. He pleaded not guilty to the last two charges in October.

Terms of the plea deal have not been disclosed.  A hearing is scheduled for this Thursday, with a trial set to begin March 2nd.
