North Liberty Police are investigating a shots fired incident.
According to a news release from the city, between 6:40 and 6:50 Monday night a mother called to report that someone had shot at her son. Initial information indicated the incident occurred near Penn Oaks Drive, but subsequent investigation determined there was an argument in the 700 block of Savannah Drive during which a shot was fired. The victim was treated for a superficial cut and refused additional assistance. There is no evidence to suspect the public at large is at risk.
Anyone with information, or who has captured the incident on a home camera system, can reach out to the North Liberty Police Department at (319) 626-5724 or Iowa City Area Crimestoppers at (319) 358-TIPS (8477). Tips that lead to an arrest may also result in a cash reward.
