The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a wanted sex offender.
A news release asks for the public’s help in locating 33-year-old John M. Barnes. Barnes’ last known address was in Burlington, but his current whereabouts are unknown. He was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual assault in 2008 when he was 15 years old. The victim is listed as a boy under the age of 14.
The Iowa Sex Offender Registry has put Barnes on “Most Wanted” status,
Anyone who sees Barnes or knows his whereabouts is urged to call 9-1-1.
