The University of Iowa Dance Marathon was a huge success again this year.
The event, which raises funds for children fighting pediatric cancer at the UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital, wrapped up Saturday night.
The event featured visits from the families of those being treated, the presentation of donation checks, and the final reveal at 7:00 Saturday night. Last year’s Big Event raised over $1.5 million. This year, the total was $1, 695, 270.
That puts the total money raised since its inception 32 years ago to over $38.9 million.
