Executive Director of Johnson County Affordable Housing Coalition announces run for Supervisor

Jessica Andino, a lifelong Johnson County resident, community leader, small business co-owner, and public health researcher, has announced her candidacy for the Johnson County Board of Supervisors, seeking to represent District 2 in the June 2, 2026 Democratic Primary Election.

District 2 includes Solon, Hills, Lone Tree, parts of Iowa City, and surrounding rural areas. Andino is originally from Solon and currently resides on the east side of Iowa City.

Andino currently serves as Executive Director of the Johnson County Affordable Housing Coalition, where she leads collaborative efforts among nonprofits, local governments, developers, and resident-led organizations to expand access to safe and affordable housing.

Andino will officially launch her campaign at a public kickoff event on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Wildwood (4919 Walleye Dr SE in Iowa City). The event will feature live music by Kevin Burt, light refreshments, and an opportunity for residents to meet Andino and learn more about her vision for Johnson County.
