An Iowa City man was charged with domestic abuse assault after he allegedly dumped coffee grounds on his wife.
The two were involved in a verbal argument at their Union Road residence. 27-year-old Barrett Rolph’s wife was sitting on the ground with the couple’s 7-month-old child during the altercation.
Police say Rolph was yelling at the woman and then dumped a bag of coffee grounds on her while she was holding the child.
No injuries were sustained, but Rolph was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault and Child Endangerment. He faces a jail sentence of up to 25 months if convicted on both counts.
