Field fires are usually reported during daylight hours, but Iowa City firefighters were called to an overnight vegetation blaze on the city’s west side early Saturday.
Crews…including the battalion chief…were dispatched to Camp Cardinal Boulevard near Deer Creek Road at 2:44 a.m. The Watch Duty app indicates the fire was extinguished and firefighters were returned to service at 4:21 Saturday morning.
No other details have been released.
