Two motorists heading southbound on I380 were charged with OWI by two different law enforcement agencies at the same approximate time.
The incidents occurred just before 2:45am Friday. 28-year-old Chelsea Blinks of Cedar Rapids was stopped by a Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy at the 1 mile marker after allegedly going 15 miles over the speed limit and failing to maintain her lane. Blinks reportedly admitted to drinking and provided a Datamaster showing a breath-alcohol level of .147% after performing poorly on field sobriety testing.
At the same time, North Liberty Police pulled over 27-year-old Evens Dorvilus of Orlando Florida for an undisclosed reason and reportedly observed signs of intoxication. After allegedly admitting to drinking before getting behind the wheel, Dorvilus provided a Datamaster test showing his breath-alcohol level at .153%.
Blinks and Dorvilus were each charged with OWI first offense, a serious misdemeanor.
