An Iowa City man was arrested after an argument with a roommate moving out turned physical.
Police report 24-year-old Rodrigo Ayala Lainez of South Scott Boulevard got into the altercation with the roommate Sunday night. While arguing, the fight got physical, and Alaya-Lainez reportedly admitted to striking the roommate.
He was armed with a knife during the fight.
Ayala-Lainez was arrested and charged with Assault causing Bodily Injury and Assault while displaying a Dangerous Weapon. He faces a possible maximum three years in prison if convicted. A no-contact order was requested between Ayala-Lainez and the ex-roommate.
