An Illinois man faces charges that he assaulted his sister inside of an Iowa City apartment.
According to arrest records, 33-year-old Carlose Mackey of Chicago was at an apartment on the 600 block of East College Street just after 12:15 last Friday afternoon when he allegedly grabbed his sister around the neck and threw her to the ground. Iowa City Police say the woman had injuries including a swollen knot on her left eyebrow and scratches on her neck. She claimed Mackey had also punched her several times.
Mackey is now charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
