A drunk driving suspect was arrested by Iowa City Police after stopping to fix his tire.

That’s according to arrest records, which indicate officers were called to a crash at the intersection of Muscatine Avenue and Iowa Avenue just before 2:00 Sunday morning. Investigators were unable to find evidence of a crash, but they were then called to a nearby residence where a man was reported to be fixing a car in a stranger’s driveway. 19-year-old Joshua Bergeron of South Riverside Drive was allegedly trying to change a flat tire on his 2012 Toyota Camry. Police say Bergeron admitted to driving the vehicle, showed signs of intoxication, and registered a breath alcohol level of .087%.

Bergeron is charged with Operating While Intoxicated, Failure to Maintain Control, Striking Fixtures on a Roadway, and Possession a Fictitious License.
