City of Coralville news release

Help put litter in its place! Join us for community litter cleanup events in Coralville in March, held as the weather allows. Every piece of trash removed from our trails, parks, and open spaces helps protect our local streams and contributes to a cleaner environment. Join us to make a visible impact!

Upcoming dates:
  • Sunday, March 8, 2026, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: Help keep Coralville beautiful! Meet at the Thrive Gym parking lot (2205 E. Grantview Drive). Volunteers will clean up trash along the south side of E. Oakdale Boulevard, east of 1st Avenue.  View the March 8 event map
  • Saturday, March 28, 2026, 10:00 am to 11:00 am: Small steps lead to big changes! Meet at the northeast corner of the Coral Ridge Mall parking lot, across from Best Buy (1431 Coral Ridge Avenue). Volunteers will clean up trash along the North Ridge Trail adjacent to the east side of Coral Ridge Mall. View the March 28 event map

This is a volunteer event. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothes. Gloves, trash bags, and trash grabbers will be available to use, and the City of Coralville will dispose of all waste that is collected. Volunteers younger than 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

Events will be cancelled 24 to 48 hours in advance if the weather does not look favorable, and any changes will be posted at www.coralville.org. For more information or to sign up, please contact Virginia Hayes, Stormwater Technician, at 319.248.1738 or vhayes@coralville.org.

You can help make our neighborhoods, parks, and trails a little cleaner, and keep our local waterways and environment safer from contamination!
