An Iowa City man is accused of threatening another person with a pair of guns.
Iowa City Police say about two weeks ago 33-year-old Valentino Jackson approached a subject after arguing with that person’s son. Jackson allegedly threatened to “shoot up” the other person’s house.
One week later, Jackson allegedly drove by the other person near the intersection of Baker Street and Bradford Drive…which is near the alleged victim’s house…and reportedly held up a gun in each hand and repeated the earlier threat.
A search warrant executed on Jackson’s Wayne Avenue residence Tuesday night reportedly turned up 9mm ammunition. Jackson has a domestic abuse conviction in Georgia from 2017, making him ineligible to possess a weapon or ammo.
Jackson was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 10:45 Tuesday night and charged with 1st Degree Harassment and Dominion or Control of a Firearm by a Domestic Abuser. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
