A convicted sex offender has been arrested again after allegedly skipping his quarterly in-person verification with the Johnson County Sheriff’s office.
48-year-old Justin Washpun of Triple Crown Lane was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 2:00 Thursday afternoon.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation reports Washpun failed to appear at the sheriff’s office as required for his February check-in. Washpun is on the registry after a 2003 conviction for enticing a minor. The victim was a girl under the age of 14.
If convicted of the Sex Offender Registry violation, Washpun faces a maximum of five years in prison.
