Coralville Police have arrested a man they say assaulted a Casey’s employee with pizza slices.

49-year-old Aaron Kahler of 6th Avenue was booked into the Johnson County Jail at 11:15 Sunday night. Workers at the Casey’s on Hayden Fry Way report Kahler was inside the business just after 9:45 Sunday night when he engaged in a verbal altercation with an employee. Kahler then reportedly began throwing pizza slices around the store before leaving with two slices. Kahler then allegedly threw those two slices at a pursuing employee and spit on him.

Responding officers report finding pizza sauce on the floor throughout the business, pizza sauce on a Casey’s employee’s uniform, and what appeared to be spit on the employee’s face.

Kahler is charged with Aggravated Theft, Assault, and Disorderly Conduct. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of 26 months in jail.
