Iowa City Police say a shoplifting suspect drew attention to herself by overdressing for the weather.
48-year-old Tosha Aurthur…who lists her address as Shelter House…is accused of trying to steal a $13 bottle of liquor from the Waterfront Hy-Vee on the afternoon of March 9th by hiding it in her coat sleeve. The only problem with her plan: The temperature at the time was 74F.
Hy-Vee staff knew Aurthur from previous incidents and believed she had already been trespassed from the store. The bottle was recovered, and Aurthur was arrested for 3rd Degree Theft.
Aurthur pleaded guilty on Friday, and a sentencing date was set for May 7th.
