A Tiffin woman was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly threatening her ex-partner.
Police say 23-year-old Ellianna Ward and the victim had been in an intimate relationship but had since separated. In recent days, she allegedly had been interacting on social media posted by her ex. The reported victim and her significant other contacted Ward and told her to stop contacting them.
According to the arrest report, at 11:14pm Tuesday, Ward called the victim and began arguing with her. During the argument, Ward threatened to kill the victim and slit her throat. The victim provided previous threats that she captured on video.
An Iowa City police officer confronted Ward at her home, and she allegedly admitted to the phone call and making the threats.
Ward was arrested and charged with 1st degree Harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a two year sentence if found guilty.
