A Hope House resident is back in custody after allegedly absconding from the Coralville facility two weeks ago.

21-year-old Mekhi Wright was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 2:00 Thursday morning. The Iowa Department of Corrections says Wright signed out of Hope House at 3:10 on the afternoon of March 6th to go to work with a return time of 8:30 that night. Hope House officials say Wright never returned to the Holiday Road facility.

Wright is charged with Absence From Custody. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.

Wright also faces a pair of probation violations from previous burglary and Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card convictions.
