Iowa fuel prices continue to rise amid Iran conflict

Fuel prices continue to rise in Iowa amid the current conflict in Iran and the ensuing threat to ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship reports the average unleaded gasoline price in Iowa rose 16 cents from last week to $3.35. That’s also up 46 cents from one year ago.
The national average on Wednesday was $3.84, up 26 cents from last week’s price.

Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 21 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.63. That’s still 44 cents lower than the national average. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.31 in Iowa.
