An Atkins woman was arrested last week after an alleged theft at Shelter House.
On March 17th, 40-year-old Jessica Samples was reportedly at the facility around 2:15pm when officers were called regarding a theft. Surveillance cameras reportedly saw Samples taking a pair of shoes from the victim.
The following day at around 5:45, Samples was located down the street from Shelter House, wearing the victim’s shoes. She was taken into custody, and a search incident to arrest reportedly turned up a small amount of methamphetamine and a pipe used to smoke the drug.
Samples was charged with 5th degree Theft, a Controlled Substance violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on call counts, she faces a maximum jail sentence of 14 months.
