Bettendorf woman charged with OWI after allegedly crashing car while on phone

A Bettendorf woman was charged with OWI after allegedly causing an accident.

According to the arrest report, 22-year-old Susan Longstaff of Oak Street was on the 200 block of Paddock Drive in Iowa City when she was allegedly using her cellphone while driving and crashed in to a parked car.

Upon contact, Longstaff told police that she was leaving a friend’s residence when the accident occurred. She allegedly performed poorly on field testing and reportedly agreed to a Datamaster which showed her breath-alcohol level at .132 percent.

Longstaff was charged with OWI first offense, a serious misdemeanor.
