A Coralville man was arrested Saturday night after police found him operating a vehicle without plates.
38-year-old Almamy Ndiaye of Holiday Road was observed in Iowa City near the intersection of Benton and Sunset streets at 9:21pm after his Jeep Cherokee lacked license plates. He was contacted after pulling into the RIverside Drive Maverick store.
A check of Ndiaye’s driving record showed that his license had been suspended since April 2025, and was barred from driving until December 2028 and Revoked until November 2030.
Ndiaye could face up to three years in prison on charges of driving while barred and revoked.
