Gas Prices dip slightly

Gas prices dipped slightly in the past week, but it wasn’t enough to bring them back to previous levels.

Gas Buddy says the average price for a gallon of gas in Iowa is $3.29, a little over 3 cents less than last week. That’s still nearly 66 cents higher than it was a month ago, and 26 1/2 cents higher than it was a year ago.

Patrick DeHaan is head petroleum analyst at Gas Buddy. He predicts gas prices nationally to rise over the $4 mark, and diesel to nearly $6 a gallon if conditions fail to improve. He added that Americans have already spent nearly $8 billion more for gas in the past month, posing growing risks to the broader economy.
