North Liberty Police have arrested a man they say recorded himself sexually assaulting an unconscious victim.
34-year-old Edil Perez Zuniga is accused of using his cellphone to record several videos of himself sexually assaulting the victim at his Ash Court residence just after 2:45 a.m. on New Year’s Day. The alleged victim reportedly found the videos after Perez Zuniga showed them an unrelated video on his phone. The videos were still on the phone when it was searched by police.
Perez Zuniga is now charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse and Invasion of Privacy. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of 12 years in prison.
Online records show Perez Zuniga is also being held for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
