A convicted sex offender accused of asking two prostitutes to have sex with a mentally handicapped boy now faces multiple violations of Iowa’s sex offender registry.

71-year-old Kevin Lind of Hudson Avenue was convicted of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in Polk County last year. The three victims were all under the age of 14.

Iowa City Police say last month Lind spent about $3,000 on sex with two different prostitutes. At one point, Lind allegedly told the women that he has a 14-15-year-old mentally handicapped boy who visits him and asked if they would have sex with him.

Lind is charged with two counts of Prostitution. If convicted, he faces a maximum of four years in jail.

Police now say their investigation has revealed Lind had unreported accounts on Roblox, Instagram, TikTok and X as well as an unreported iCloud account. He also reportedly had marijuana on a table when police visited his residence last month.

Lind now faces five Sex Offender Registry Violations and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance. If convicted on all the new charges, Lind faces a maximum of 11 years in jail.
