An area transient was arrested Sunday night after a traffic stop on an equipment violation.
Police say 46-year-old Christopher Romanos was stopped after the Nissan Armada he was operating had a non-functioning center brake light. He was asked out of the vehicle, and when he exited, he allegedly dropped a green piece of paper with white residue that was suspected to be methamphetamine.
A probable cause search was conducted, and two clear plastic bags reportedly containing meth were found inside the vehicle.
Due to a previous conviction, Romanos was charged with a second offense controlled substance violation. He could spend up to two years in jail if convicted on the charge.
