A new renovation at University of Iowa Healthcare’s university campus will help meet the growing demand for maternal care in Iowa.
A release from UIHC says the 30,000 square-foot renovation on the 7th floor of the John Pappajohn Pavillion was completed last week, with an open house held April 7th. The total number of inpatient maternal care beds on the university campus now is over 60.
Included in the renovations are dedicated exam rooms, additional work areas for staff, and a newborn viewing area.
Another phase in the expansion of the postpartum expansion is underway, with an expanded labor and delivery space project designed to accommodate the roughly 3000 babies that are born at UIHC’s university campus.
