A Cedar Rapids man faces felony charges after allegedly using another person’s identity to receive health care at University of Iowa Health Care’s main campus.

Police say 40-year-old Timothy Hill of K Street SW came to the Hawkins Drive ER facility just before 1:15am on January 13th and submitted the victim’s paper temporary driver’s license and gave a false identity to staff the whole time he was at the hospital.

Hill also reportedly presented the victim’s insurance card with the victim’s name on it and claimed to be that person to use insurance to cover his medical treatment.

Total cost for the care exceeded $7400.

A warrant for Hill’s arrest was issued February 9th; he remained a large until he was arrested this week. Hill is charged with Insurance Fraud, 2nd degree Theft, and Identity theft. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.

Hill was released on his own recognizance pending arraignment.
