Cedar Rapids Police Investigating Friday Night Stabbing

Cedar Rapids Police are investigating a Friday night incident involving two males. Officers responding to a call for a stabbing near the intersection of 1st Ave NW and 16th St NW at approximately 9:52p.m. were flagged down near 1st Ave W and 6th St SW.  A 17-year old male reportedly involved in the incident was located in a vehicle suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. He was treated on-scene and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. 

Shortly afterward, a 17-year-old juvenile male matching witness descriptions was located in the 1200 block of Ellis Blvd NW.  He was interviewed and taken to juvenile detention. He was charged with Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Cedar Rapids Police continue to investigate the incident.
