The Iowa Supreme Court will hear arguments in a human trafficking case involving an Iowa City man.

KCRG TV reports Kevin Lind was arrested in an online child sex sting after investigators say he messaged someone he believed to be a minor, and arranged to pay her to have sex with another minor.

Lind was convicted of prostitution and sexual exploitation of a minor and has been on the sex offender registry since January.

The Polk County District Court dismissed the human trafficking charge because there never was a child for him to traffic, and the Iowa Attorney General’s office filed an appeal with the State Supreme Court.

In March, Lind allegedly spent about $3000 to have sex with two different prostitutes, and allegedly solicited them to have sex with a 14 to 15 year old handicapped boy who visits him. He was charged with two counts of prostitution and faces additional charges for failure to disclose social media accounts as part of his sex offender registry requirements.

The State Supreme Court is scheduled to hear opening arguments Tuesday night.
