An Iowa City man has been arrested after a domestic assault incident.
According to the police report, 44-year-old Jared Colony of Vail Circle was at a North Liberty residence Monday evening and had a physical altercation with the mother of children present in the home.
Colony allegedly threw objects around the house, broke a mop, assaulted the woman, and kicked a child in the leg. He also broke a door, threw a pan containing dinner into the kitchen sink. His actions scared the other child present.
A warrant for Colony’s arrest was issued the next day, and he was taken into custody that evening. He has been charged with Child Endangerment causing Bodily Injury, Simple Child Endangerment, and Domestic Abuse Assault causing injury. If convicted on all counts, Colony could be sentenced to up to eight years in prison.
A no-contact order was requested.
