The Amana Whirlpool plant will close for five days next week.
The plant will halt production from May 18-22 to manage production. That’s according to a statement released to KCRG TV-9. A spokesperson also told the television station that Whirlpool regularly aligns its production schedule to meet current demand.
The facility will also be closed for Memorial Day.
Whirlpool laid off 341 workers from the plant in March, and another 250 last year. It currently hosts an estimated 1,000 workers, with more layoffs possible later this year.
