A central Iowa man faces a drunk driving charge after allegedly crashing his car in downtown Iowa City overnight.
Iowa City Police say they observed a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander crash into a pole at the intersection of Gilbert and Burlington Streets at 12:45 Sunday morning. The driver, 22-year-old Barifodum Adoobe of Des Moines, reportedly showed signs of intoxication and provided a breath alcohol level of .190%.
Adoobe is charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
