Allegedly pulling a gun on his domestic partner has led to an Iowa City man’s arrest.
The alleged victim told police that she was involved in an argument with 20-year-old James Goods at the couple’s residence in the Town & Campus Apartments on Arthur Street just before 2:15am on December 8th. An investigation determined that Goods had attempted to give the woman half his wallet, but instead handed her a 9mm bullet. She also said Goods owned a gun, and she provided video showing Goods pointing the gun at her during the argument.
Goods is on probation for previous assault and weapons charges and is not allowed to possess a firearm. He was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 1:45 Friday afternoon and charged with Dominion or Control of a Firearm by a Felon. If convicted, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
