A Hills man faces a felony stalking charge after allegedly terrorizing a woman over the last few months.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Michael McKinney of Aspen Lane was served a no-contact order last August. He had been living with the woman up to that point, and on August 4th she caught him scaling her third floor balcony demanding to be let it. About 12 hours later he allegedly deflated her tires.

On October 5th McKinney allegedly used a friend’s phone to call the woman 187 times. She picked up once, at which point McKinney allegedly told her he was going to “blow her away” with his shotgun.

The woman showed investigators text messages from McKinney in which he inquired about vehicles in her driveway and people with whom she had been. He also demanded to see her.

A friend of the victim claims to have seen McKinney slash one of the woman’s car tires. McKinney also allegedly hacked the woman’s Facebook account, sending hurtful messages to her friends while posing as her in an attempt to isolate her from others.

McKinney was arrested on outstanding warrants after causing a scene inside the Hills Casey’s just before 10:15 Saturday night. The owner of the car McKinney had been driving arrived while police were investigating and told them he had taken the car keys without her knowing and driven there without her permission. McKinney is currently barred from driving. He now faces charges of Stalking While Violating a Protective Order, 1st Degree Harassment, 3rd Degree Harassment and Driving While Barred. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of nine years in prison.
