CR Man suffers life-threatening gunshot wound in late night shooting

A Cedar Rapids man is being treated for a life-threatening gunshot wound after a late Saturday night incident.
According to a media release from the city’s Police Department, Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of 9th Street Southwest on reports of shots being fired just before 10:30pm. Details are sketchy at this point, but arriving officers found an approximately 35 year-old male with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
The Department is actively investigating this incident; no arrests have been made, and the name of the injured man has yet to be released.
