An underage University of Iowa student reportedly over-celebrated the end of the school year this weekend, as evidenced by her being found passed on out a bus stop bench.

Officers came upon 19-year-old Marianna Wharff of West Des Moines just before 2am Saturday at the bus stop in front of McBride Hall on Jefferson Street. According to the arrest report, she had bloodshot watery eyes, was unable to sit up straight, was swaying, and reportedly could not give the officer an exact location where she was going for the night.

Despite her alleged condition, Wharff denied drinking. A PBT refuted her claim, showing a blood-alcohol level of .198 percent. She was arrested for public intoxication, and a subsequent search found a fictitious ID showing her to be of legal drinking age.

Wharff, a student in the UI’s college of Liberal Arts, faces up to 13 months in jail if convicted on the False ID and intoxication charges.
