Delimart owner dies at 59 due to complications from COVID-19

The owner of local Delimart locations has died after a battle with COVID-19.

59-year-old Frank Moreland of Kalona died Wednesday at Unity Point Health Trinity Hospital in Bettendorf. The Iowa City native and Regina High School graduate became Delimart general manager in 1985, and took over ownership in 2005.

A memorial service for Moreland will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Parkview Church on Foster Road in Iowa City. The service will be available via Livestream at the Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home Facebook Page. A private burial will be held prior to the service at South Gingerich Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday from 4 – 7 PM at the Kalona Mennonite Church on 6th Street in Kalona.

Moreland’s Delimarts have five locations in Iowa City and Coralville.
