A van a local charity uses to distribute clothes to the needy has been vandalized.

Corridor Community Action Network says in a news release that the group’s director, Mandi Remington, stopped by the mobile closet to drop off some items for upcoming distributions and found that it has been broken into with the window and door significantly damaged.

CCAN Clothes Cruise, a free mobile clothing service, was launched in November of 2021 with the help of sponsorships from the city of North Liberty and multiple local businesses.  CCAN says the mobile service was established in response to frequent requests for clothing from many local service-based organizations and the lack of a community-wide resource to meet that need.

The organization is asking the community to assist in covering repairs so the vehicle can get back on the road as soon as possible. With temperatures dropping, there will be a widespread need for warm clothing and winter gear.
